Beaujolais Nouveau? Nah.
Beaujolais NEWveau
Before it’s in the cellar, it’s nouveau
What is Beaujolias Nouveau?
Beaujolais Nouveau is a light, vibrant red wine made from Gamay grapes in France’s Beaujolais region.
Released just weeks after harvest, it’s meant to be enjoyed fresh, capturing the bright, juicy flavors of the new vintage. Traditionally launched with great fanfare on the third Thursday of November, Beaujolais Nouveau is less about aging and more about celebrating—the culmination of harvest and the promise of good things to come.
It's a wine that's lively, fruity, and easy to love—perfect for toasting the hard work of the season and sharing with friends.
Bringing the Tradition to Newberg
Just like in Beaujolais, our grapes here in the Willamette Valley—particularly Pinot Noir and Gamay—capture an incredible sense of freshness, brightness, and vibrancy right after harvest. These young wines are full of life and spirit, perfect for savoring in the moment.
At Newveau Festival, we bring this classic French tradition to Newberg, celebrating our world-class wine region with a distinctly local twist. It’s a chance to taste the very first expressions of the season’s fruit and to gather in gratitude with the community that makes it all happen.
In one of America’s true wine capitals, Newveau is a toast to the harvest, the hands that make it possible, and the bright future still ahead.
