We Celebrate
Inspired by the traditions of Beaujolais Nouveau, Newveau Festival brings Newberg’s spirit to life with a one-day celebration of harvest, wine, and community.
Our mission is to connect wineries with wine lovers and community members to celebrate the end of the harvest together—and to honor the hard work of harvest workers who make it all possible.
Expect exclusive nouveau-style (wines from this year) wine releases, delicious warm bites from local chefs, and a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere that’s proudly un-stuffy and full of heart.
What is Beaujolais Nouveau?
Beaujolais Nouveau is a light, vibrant red wine traditionally made from Gamay grapes in France’s Beaujolais region.
Released just weeks after harvest, it’s meant to be enjoyed fresh, capturing the bright, juicy flavors of the new vintage. Traditionally launched with great fanfare on the third Thursday of November, Beaujolais Nouveau is less about aging and more about celebrating—the culmination of harvest and the promise of good things to come.
At Newveau Fest in Newberg, it looks a little different. We do not require Gamay to be used; rather, we allow each vineyard space to express its unique character through the fresh vintage wine it chooses to showcase. It’s all part of the fun and character.
Great Wine Made Better With Great Food
Harvest season is about coming together, and nothing brings people around the table like comforting food made with care. At Newveau Festival, we're partnering with local, talented chefs to showcase the best the valley has to offer.
Last year, we blew through our food options and couldn’t keep up with hungry festivalgoers who wanted some warm bites to go with their great wines. This year, we want to highlight a few of the great local food carts and mobile restaurants to showcase the vibrant and creative food scene in the Willamette Valley.
Harvest in Focus: Photography Art Show
If we’re bringing the harvest to the people, we figured we might as well show the community the sights of the harvest season in the hills.
As part of Newveau Festival, we're proud to showcase Harvest in Focus, a special photography exhibit by local photographers celebrating the people behind the wine. Throughout harvest season, photographers will visit participating wineries to capture the hard work, spirit, and beauty of harvest up close—from early morning grape picks to joyful end-of-day gatherings.
